Community Kindness Hero recognition
April 12, 2023

On April 8, 2023 – the Hartford Yard Goats and Liberty Bank recognized Chanel “Speedy” Benjamin for being a Community Kindness Hero. Her efforts with They Love My Splash LLC and the initiatives under the umbrella of bettering the Harlem community and beyond has afforded her an opportunity to an on-field and outfield video board pre-game ceremony. She also had the opportunity to throw a ceremonial first pitch, while her family was in attendance to cheer her on during the Hartford Yard Goats game vs. the Baysox.

“Hard in da Paint” Rapper is set to perform at the Atlanta Hawks’ Home Game on December 3, 2021 for the launch of SKRIT Streetwear.

ATLANTA – Today, the Hawks Shop, (the official team store of the Atlanta Hawks) has announced a special in-store collaboration with SKRIT; the new streetwear line by Atlanta’s own Waka Flocka Flame. To help introduce the co-branded four-piece capsule, the award-winning music and television star is scheduled for a special in-game performance. Following the game he will host a meet-and-greet at the main Hawks Shop with fans who purchased items from the collection. The Hawks’ home contest against the Philadelphia 76ers is set for 7:30 p.m. Tipoff and marks the second of 12 ‘Forever 404’ nights, which pays homage to Atlanta culture, past, present and future.

The line is intended for both the young and seasoned fans, with a neutral-color palette. SKRIT streetwear will be available for purchase for fans exclusively at the main Hawks Shop [near Gate 1] at the State Farm Arena. Each item in this collection features the Hawks’ logo on elevated luxurious t-shirts, fleece crewnecks and joggers.

G.R.A.C.E 2nd Annual Back to School Bash

On Sunday, September 1, 2019, Gracie Cedres the CEO/Founder of G.R.A.C.E (Granting Resources And Community Enrichment) non-profit went above and beyond for Harlem scholars to ensure they are prepared for the school year. Her continuous strides, steadfast due diligence and hardwork within honoring the legacy of her grandmother placed her in the position to be recognized by Mayor Bill de Blasio of New York City.

Prior to this prestigious recognition on August 27, 2019 Gracie also was announced as a recipient of the Hershey’s Heartwarming Project Action Grant. This honor was awarded for implementing and taking the iniative to curate service based programming in the Harlem community.

The fun family filled day hosted activity stations such as: the slime station (a big hit with the kid’s), paint party, face painting by @zilladidit, giant Jenga and a fitness (tug of war, football, kickball and more). The goal of G.R.A.C.E Back to School Bash was to one alleviate parents from costly school supplies and to donate the necessary items to the scholars while celebrating them in the process.

G.R.A.C.E curated an event that provided families with food, entertainment, healthy snack options and crafts that kept a smile on the faces of many.
