Community Kindness Hero recognition April 12, 2023

On April 8, 2023 – the Hartford Yard Goats and Liberty Bank recognized Chanel “Speedy” Benjamin for being a Community Kindness Hero. Her efforts with They Love My Splash LLC and the initiatives under the umbrella of bettering the Harlem community and beyond has afforded her an opportunity to an on-field and outfield video board pre-game ceremony. She also had the opportunity to throw a ceremonial first pitch, while her family was in attendance to cheer her on during the Hartford Yard Goats game vs. the Baysox.

Chanel “Speedy” Benjamin was recognized as a Community Kindness Hero for the diversity, equity, and inclusion for the: #KickbackAgainstBully donating sneaker initiative, providing #iSmileForAngele Legacy Scholarships to student athletes, and building a platform for mental health awareness in Harlem.
