ARTIST SEBASTIAN MASUDA’S SUSHI DELIC PRIVATE OPENING PARTY June 28, 2023

SPLASH REPORT: SUSHIDELIC is a new restaurant created and designed by Japanese artist Sebastian Masuda from Harajuku’s Monster Cafe’s fame in Tokyo. We were in attendance at the private opening party last night, and of course, we made a SPLASH!

Upon stepping in, be prepared to feel as if you traveled to your favorite childhood Wonderland as you will feel nostalgia from the ambiance. SUSHI DELIC is a happy place – it is elegantly designed with subtle and bold pieces. From the neon pink decor onto the rotating cats hanging from the ceiling, the lipstick tube shaped lightbulbs, and the conveyor created the allure of being whisked away while still in NYC.

I recommend all sushi enthusiasts and those who are into culinary experiences to go to SUSHI DELIC in Soho, located on 177 Lafayette Street, New York, NY 10013. The DJ pumped up the jams and the transitions were fire, the delicious appetizers were making their way around (my favorite was the Salmon roll), and an assortment of Japanese sake, craft beer, and mixed drinks were served. Overall, it was a great night!

THE BET AWARDS 2023 MADE A SPLASH IN HARLEM June 25, 2023

SPLASH REPORT: The BET AWARDS 2023 presented the CULTURE’S BIGGEST BRUNCH AND BLOCK PARTY in five MAJOR CITIES on Saturday, June 24th. Did you have the opportunity to pull up in your cityyyy? If you missed it, here is the rundown.

I pulled up to the BIGGEST BRUNCH and Block Party in my city YEAAAA!!! That being New York City (HARLEM) of course that was hosted by Juelz Santana at BLVD Bistro NYC (2149 Frederick Douglass Blvd, New York, NY 10026). The event was splashy, full of beautiful people, the energy was high, the food was delicious, and refreshing libations were flowing.

DJ Pete kept the crowd rockin’, two steppin’, and belting our hearts out with his mixes. DJ Hollywood gave us some old-school smooth flavor on the mic. French toast with bananas and shrimp and grits were on the menu accompanied by a champagne wall with the option of assorted mimosas, bellini’s, and more. There was also an opportunity to step into the Rap City booth to spit a hot 16 that was a nostalgic moment for sure.

I know my city turned up, so the other four locations had to be a lituation as we commemorated the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop. We gathered with joy, love, and for the culture.

Washington D.C. was hosted by Chinese Kitty, Charlotte, NC, was hosted by Tia Corine, Dallas, Texas was hosted by Yella Breezy, Houston, Texas was hosted by Young Lyric, and Atlanta, Georgia was hosted by Amy Luciani.

The legacy of music will be showcased, and a notable highlight will be Tina Turner being honored by Patti LaBelle. Busta Rhymes will also be receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award. It is well deserved as he has transformed the visuals, sound, and landscape of Hip Hop with his unique flow. It is a spot where you would want to bring your friends for the views of the Big Apple at an elevated level as the ambience will blow you away. You can opt to sit outside on the patio on a nice sunny day and the sunrays will give you enough radiant beams to snap the right angles. There is also the option of sitting by the fire as you can volunteer to be the photographer for others because a selfie will not cut it get a full body pic. You’ll thank me later or you can sing your best rendition of Alicia Keys the note “this girl is on fireeeeeee.”

Last night a new name for a Spring drink was introduced at the Spring launch party. There were many submissions but only one can take home the glory and bragging rights of having a namesake drink in a splashy establishment. In addition to that perk the winner receives their namesake drink for free upon every visit for a year. The ‘What She’s Having’ contains Greenhook Gin, Greenhook ‘Beach Plum’ Gin, hibiscus, fresh lemon and Cava.

That is a cool and innovative way to engage with patrons andddd (insert a drum roll please) the name of the drink is ‘What she’s having.’ Clever, rightttt it gives you the wow factor but as you order it you have to picture the scenario. Bartender: “What can I get you?” You, Me, Him, Her: I’ll have the… (wait for it…) What she’s having.” The crowd gasps the exchange is both ingenious and cute to me if you haven’t figured it out yet. (Smile) Who kept the tunes going all night long? None other than [Instagram] @djrichkid I hope he becomes a resident DJ as he kept me dancing the night away and bopping in my section when my food came. Curtsy to you as the dance floor was never vacant with moving feet and swaying arms.

Imagine inviting your friends out for drinks and you are squad goals. I’m that friend, family member and person that would remind and ask everyone if they knew an awesome person named the drink they had. In Smokey’s voice “that’s my dawg.” Lol. I do it all the time to my sister Project Pattie who is an Executive Chef. “Did you know my sister made that with ounces of love because it’s made from stratch?” I am her biggest fan.

Onto the food at Castell NYC Rooftop Lounge the french fries were pure stomach joy as they were already seasoned and aioli sauce accompanied it on the side. Both ways are a YES and the aioli sauce gave it a mpre flavorful kick. I also ordered the chicken skewer which comes with avacado on a half toasted pita with a salad on the side.

The greenery that surrounds the rooftop makes it earthy, serene and a place to be socialable. The sophisticated chic atmosphere is much due to the decor as it feels as if you are welcomed and have been escorted into the living room for tranquility as you are surrounded by beautiful vibes and people.

Samuel Hill, the manager and the man behind many talents, excellent hospitality and superb overall professionalism is the reason for this establishment’s success. When picking a location to catch up with friends location, inclusivity and the desire to have a good time all the while show everyone that you did with a subtle check this spot out post or tweet. Castell NYC Rooftop Lounge is located in the heart of Times Square inside the AC Hotel NY Times (260 W 40th St. NY, NY 10018) on the 21st floor.

The selection of food and drinks will capture the eyes on the menu and win your stomach over with each bite. Another added bonus is that they even took the liberty to make 2 signature drinks for those who choose to partake in alcoholic beverages.
